When the opening “Ship of the Dead” began, I patiently waited for the vocals to kick in. But they didn’t come, and I’m glad. It’s as if House of Fire is presenting the listener with a path into their world of experimentation, haunting echoed vocals, and layering of details, that if you listen closely you will hear something new every time. It’s a path that would wipe your brain clean of thoughts just so you can fully take in the next exceptional minutes.
